CACC Women's Track & Field Weekly Honorees
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Brianna Coates (Holy Family) - Coates ran the CACC’s fastest time in both the 400m and 400m hurdles at the Doc Jopson Invitational. She won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07.11, and then ran a CACC qualifying standard time of 1:02.02 in the 400m.
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ocelia Jones (Holy Family) - Ran a 15.56 in the 110m hurdles at the Hopson Invitational which is the fastest time in the CACC so far this season, and is a championship qualifying standard.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Sydonia Turner (Holy Family) - Turner leads the CACC in both the long and high jumps after this past weekend. She won the long jump at the Doc Jopson Invitational with a jump of 17 feet. She then had a high jump of 5-1ft which placed her fifth.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Aejana Robinson (Holy Family) - Robinson leads the CACC in the discus and shot put after this past weekend. In the discus, she set a new school record to win the event at the Doc Jopson Invitational with a throw of 15-6ft. She then finished third in the shot put with a CACC qualifying standard throw of 40ft.
HONOR ROLL
Annalee Capuano (Jefferson) - Won the 1500m at the Oscar Moore Invite with a CACC qualifying standard time of 5:12.2.
Amirah Beasley (Georgian Court) - Ran a CACC leading time in the 800m of 2:23.53 which was also a CACC qualifying standard time.
Tania Alfaro (Goldey-Beacom) - Won the 100m at the Stockton Invitational with a CACC standard time of 12.97.
Malama Toure (Georgian Court) - Tied for first place in the CACC with a long jump effort of 17 feet at the Stockton Invite.
Chiamaka Wokocha (Georgian Court) - Leads the CACC in the hammer throw (135.1 feet) and is second in the conference in the discus (118.8 feet), as she turned in both efforts at the Stockton Invitational.
