DABNEY, BLOOMFIELD DISPATCH FELICIAN, 107-69 IN CACC SEMIFNALS

CALDWELL, N.J. – Guard Andre Dabney (Plainfield, NJ) hit 10-of-11 from three-point range en route to 46 points, as the Bloomfield College men’s basketball team defeated Felician College, 107-69 in the semifinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Friday evening at Caldwell College. The Deacons (22-7) advance to play Caldwell College in Saturday’s CACC Tournament championship game, while the Golden Falcons finish their season 15-14.

Felician led early, 7-4 in the game’s first two minutes before Bloomfield went on a 23-4 run that included 12 points from Dabney, the CACC Player of the Year. The Deacons’ lead would grow to as many as 24 points until Felician finished the half with a 16-9 run to cut the Bloomfield lead to 46-29 at the half. Dabney hit all six of his shots in the first half, including three treys, en route to 19 first-half points.

The second half wasn’t much different, as the Deacons built the lead up to 95-60 when Dabney left the game with just over six minutes left in the game. Bloomfield made 59.0 percent of their attempts from the field in the second half, while the Golden Falcons shot 40.9 percent. Dabney, whose 46 points are a career high, also grabbed six rebounds and made all six of his free throw attempts. Forward Rob Lawrence (Plainfield, NJ) had 14 points and nine rebounds and guard Kyle Blue (Neptune, NJ) added 11 points in the win. Felician was led by guard Craig Banton (St. Albans, NY), who had 23 points.

The finals of the CACC Tournament will be played on Saturday, Mar. 5, starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Newman Center on the campus of Caldwell College.
