2023 CACC Men's Golf Preview
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (September 1, 2023) – The 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Golf season gets underway this Sunday and Monday as both Felician University and Wilmington University compete in the 54-hole Vulcan Invitational in California, Pa. After that, the five remaining schools swing into action the following weekend in several tournaments, as the 2023 fall campaign figures to be a fascinating battle among the seven competing schools. Goldey-Beacom returns this year as the defending conference champion.
2023 CACC MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2023 CACC Men’s Golf Championship will be held Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 2-3, at Watertown Golf Club in Watertown, Conn. It marks the third-consecutive year the championship will be held at the course, which is one of the finest in the New England region. The winner of the tournament will earn the league’s automatic bid to next spring’s NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional Tournament.
WELL REPRESENTED AT NCAA REGIONAL
Four CACC schools advanced to the NCAA Regional this past spring, including Dominican University, Goldey-Beacom College, Post University and Wilmington University. In all, five CACC schools were represented at the prestigious tournament, as Felician’s Pablo Hidalgo competed as an individual.
MYRIAD OF AWARD WINNERS RETURN
The conference is littered with star players in the sport in the 2023-24 season. Both major award winners from last season, and all 10 all-conference honorees, return this year as the CACC continues its surge as one of the most competitive conferences in Division II. FALL TOURNAMENTS TO WATCH FOR
FRANKLIN PIERCE FALL INVITATIONAL (Sept. 10-11) – Felician, Goldey-Beacom and Post will find themselves together and competing against some of the East Region’s best in this tournament. The competition will serve as a good preview for where the teams stand for an opportunity to make the NCAAs in May.
POST EAGLES INVITATIONAL (Oct. 9-10) – The Eagles once again host their strong fall tournament, which will be at Watertown GC the week after the conference championship. Felician and Wilmington will join Post in the event, as it will draw a host of some of the region’s top teams.
CITRUS INTERCOLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL (Oct. 30-31) – WilmU will twice travel to Florida in the fall, and this tournament caps the fall campaign for all CACC schools. The Citrus will host the top teams from across the country in Division II, as the Wildcats will look to make their mark in a stacked field.

The CACC Network will once again be airing live coverage of the CACC Men’s Golf Championship in Watertown. CACCN will show live action from the opening two rounds on Monday, Oct. 2, and more action from the final round on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
