CHARGERS TURNED AWAY BY TIGERS IN CACC QUARTERFINALS

The Chargers fell short losing the match to the Tigers 3-0.
The Tigers complete sweep over DC with a 25-14 win in the opening set, a 25-21 win in set two, and a 25-19 win in set three.
Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) led the team in points with 10.5 and added five points. Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) scored eight points, recorded eight kills, and added four digs. Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with 7.5 points and six kills. LaPier also added seven digs.
Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added a team-high 21 assists. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) led the team in digs with 15.
The first set was close between both teams. The Tigers used an 11-4 run to win the opening set. In the second set, the Tigers scored the first five points. The Tigers kept the lead throughout the second set, but the Chargers were able to cut the deficit to 19-17. The Tigers finished off the second set with a 25-21 win.
In the third set, the Chargers jumped out in front and held a lead for most of the set. The Tigers completed a comeback victory in the final set using a 15-5 run to help secure the victory.
Allyssa Hartney led the Tigers with 15.5 points and added 15 kills and eight digs. Tayana Bennett contributed 10.5 points and nine kills. Morgan Silks added 37 assists while Faith Zehnder finished with 17 digs.
Dominican concludes the season with an overall record of 8-19 and had a CACC record of 6-11.
