Philadelphia, Pa. (10/30/21) The Dominican College women's soccer team recorded a shutout win over the Tigers of Holy Family University.
The Chargers defeated CACC opponent Holy Family University 2-0 and improved to 9-5 (8-2 CACC) on the season.
Lauren Drummond (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) started in net for the Chargers and made four saves in the shutout win. With the win, Drummond improves to 8-2 on the season and recorded her fourth shutout win of the season.
The Chargers took 12 total shots as a team. Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.) and Isabella Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) led the team in shots with three each.
Stella Koster (Saarbruecken, Germany) and Alyana Gonel (Teaneck, N.J.) each added two shots.
The Chargers took the lead at 25:44 of the first half when Gonel scored for the 1-0 lead. Alissa Madura (Warwick, N.Y.) earned the assist on the goal.
Dominican added to their lead when Wysocki scored on a penalty kick to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Chargers took the 2-0 lead into halftime and never looked back from there as the secured the 2-0 victory over the Tigers.
Drummond recorded two saves in the second half to help keep the Tigers off of the scoreboard.
DC will return home on Wednesday, November 3rd at 2:00 PM when they host Felician University for a CACC match up and the final game of the 2021 regular season.
