Myrtle Beach, S.C.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team jumped out to a 4-1 lead over the University of New Haven on Sunday morning in Myrtle Beach, S.C., but the Chargers came back to post a 9-4 win over the Purple Knights in UB's final contest of its 2023 Spring Trip. Bridgeport heads home with a 2-9 record, and UNH is now 6-2 so far this season.
Sophomore Jack Palmer (Guilford, Conn.) had two hits for the Purple Knights on Sunday, and graduate student Craig Leonard (Holtsville, N.Y.) had an RBI.
Up next, the UB baseball team is schedule to play a four-game weekend series against the Mercy College Mavericks beginning with a single game at Mercy on Friday afternoon at 3:00 and then a doubleheader in Seaside Park at 12 noon on Saturday for the Purple Knights' home opener.
