DC defeated the Spartans by a score of 71-52.
The Chargers earned two wins on opening weekend at the 2021 STAC Conference Challenge.
Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led the way for DC with 18 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished the game with 13 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) added 11 points with three three pointers. Maria Enrich Tasias (Odena, Spain) contributed nine points off the bench.
For STAC, Chanel Brodeur-Muir finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Liliana Kramer added nine points and four rebounds. Victoria Kurisko finished with eight points and three assists.
The Chargers shot 46.8% from the field and 56.3% from three-point range.
DC got off to a fast start in the first quarter on a 13-2 run and finished the first quarter leading 20-6.
Dominican played a strong second quarter on their way to a 20 point lead at halftime 44-24.
The Chargers kept the lead throughout the second half on their way to the 71-52 victory.
The team will be back in action on Wednesday, November 17th when they host Southern Connecticut State University for their home opener. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
