EAGLES FIGHT BACK TO BEAT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Waterbury, Conn. (9/24/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 (25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 10-15) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) decision to host, Post University, this evening in a match played in the Drubner Center.

Following the loss, Dominican falls to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in CACC play. The Eagles improve to 6-9 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Freshman Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) led three players in double figures with 16 kills.
Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) had the team's only double-double with 10 kills and 12 defensive digs, while freshman Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) had career highs 15 kills and a .636 attack percentage.
Setter Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had 40 assists and Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had a team high 13 digs.
The first set saw Dominican trail 22-21 when Carr recorded a kill to even the set. Following an attack error, back to back kills from LaPier and Ainsworth lifted DC to the 25-22 win.
Ahead 21-20 in the second set, kills from LaPier and Ellis made the score 23-20 and an Eagle attack error put them at set point. A Carr kill gave them the 25-20 set win and put them ahead 2-0. Dominican had their best team attack percentage in the set as they recorded 13 kills and just three errors for the .303 attack percentage.
Post countered by taking the next two sets to tie the match at 2-all and quickly jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the deciding set en route to the 15-10 win and 3-2 match victory.
Dominican returns to action next Wednesday night when they travel to Bloomfield College.
