WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COMPLETES SERIES SWEEP OF CALDWELL UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/26/22) The Dominican College women's basketball team completed the season series sweep of Caldwell University with an 85-73 victory tonight in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win Dominican improves to 8-10 overall and 3-5 in conference play, while the Cougars drop to 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the CACC.
The first quarter saw both teams struggle offensively, but the Lady Chargers were able to close out the quarter on a 5-2 spurt to give them the 18-10 advantage.
DC was able to use a 14-4 run, capped off by a buzzer beater by Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.), in the second to extend their lead to 45-27 at the break.
A third quarter opening layup by Tomlinson extended the lead to, 47-27 and later an and-one play by Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) would give DC their biggest lead of the game, 52-29, with 7:59 to play in the period.
In the fourth, the Cougars would cut the lead to single digits with a minute and half to play, but four straight Dominican free throws regained a double-digit lead and eventual win.
Tomlinson led four Lady Chargers in double figures with a season high 24 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) added 20 points, five rebounds, six assists and five steals.
Forward McClutchy delivered the game's only double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) tallied 16 points and eight boards in the win.
The Cougars were led by Casey O'Shaughnessy with a game high 31 points, while Shanice Graves finished with 19 points and Rebecca Morrison pulled down 10 caroms.
Dominican is scheduled to return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Goldey-Beacom College at 2pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
