WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS POST UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/27/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team defeated the visiting Eagles of Post University, 3-1 (25-22, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23) this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division clash played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/27/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team defeated the visiting Eagles of Post University, 3-1 (25-22, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23) this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division clash played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
With the win, Dominican improves to 6-15 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
DC won the first two sets, before the Eagles took the third set. In the fourth tied at 23-all, red shirt junior Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) led Dominican to victory with back-to-back kills for the 25-23 set win and 3-1 match victory.
The Chargers attacked the ball well tonight as they hit .310 in the first set, .296 in the second and .303 in the third.
CACC Rookie of the Week, Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.), led the team with 20 kills and had a .340 attack percentage to go along with six digs.
LaPier finished with 18 kills and nine digs, while setter Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded the double-double of 39 assists and 19 digs.
Freshman Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) led the team with a .364 attack percentage and added seven kills.
Libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had 19 digs in the win.
The Chargers conclude their four-game homestand this coming Saturday when they host Wilmington University. Match time is slated for 12pm.
