TOMLINSON RECORDS 1000TH CAREER POINT IN LOSS TO THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY
Philadelphia, Pa. (1/8/22) Dominican College forward Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) netted her 1000th career point today in a 80-65 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss to host Thomas Jefferson University.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 6-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Tomlinson led two Lady Chargers in double figures as she finished with 22 points (shooting 11-18 from the floor), five rebounds and a career high four steals. The 1000th career point came with 2:53 left in the final quarter on a jumpshot seal her place in the Sue Heller 1000th Point Club.
Graduate student Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) netted 16 points, a team best seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Oliva Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) dished out a game high six assists, to go along with four rebounds and Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y. ) recorded four steals.
The Rams were led by Haley Meinel who scored a team high 18 points.
Dominican trailed 21-16 after the opening quarter but began the second with a 7-2 run to tie the score at 23-all. After four straight TJU points, the Lady Chargers scored the next nine of 11 points with back-to-back baskets from Tomlinson to claim a 32-29 advantage with under three and a half minutes before the break. The Rams used a 9-2 surge to take a 38-34 lead at the break.
Latimer opened the final quarter with a jumper to cut the deficit to 59-56, but TJU responded with the next 11 points to increase the lead and bring home the 80-65 win.
The Lady Chargers are scheduled to travel to Bloomfield College this coming Thursday. Game time is set for 5:30pm.
