Women's Basketball Grabs First Win Of 2019-20 Season Topping Felician, 76-64
Purple Knights Use Big Third Quarter To Rally For The Victory
Bridgeport, Conn.-Trailing by as many of 16 points in the second quarter, the University of Bridgeport women's basketball team rallied with a strong third quarter, as they outscored the visiting Felician University Golden Falcons, 29-7, on their way to the team's first win of the 2019-20 season, topping the visitors, 76-64. UB is now 1-5 on the young season; while Felician slips to 1-4 overall.
Junior Kyle Felton (Lithonia, Ga.) led the Purple Knights with an impressive double-double scoring 20 points, going 7-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-7 from the free throw line, plus grabbing 11 rebounds.
Felton was joined in double figures by freshman Gracen Kerr (Ansonia, Conn.) with 14 points, junior Samirah Henderson (Rahway, N.J.) with 13 points, and freshman Stephanie McBride (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in 11 points and totaled nine rebounds.
Bridgeport outscored the Golden Falcons in the paint by a 40-27 margin on the afternoon.
Brianna Lee led Felician with 15 points on Wednesday.
