#3S RAMS RALLY TO UPSET #2N LADY CHARGERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/3/20) The #3S Thomas Jefferson University Rams rallied from a six point deficit at the intermission to defeat the #2N Dominican College Lady Chargers, 73-70 in a 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championship Quarterfinal contest held in the Hennessy Center.

(3/3/20) The #3S Thomas Jefferson University Rams rallied from a six point deficit at the intermission to defeat the #2N Dominican College Lady Chargers, 73-70 in a 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championship Quarterfinal contest held in the Hennessy Center.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers end their season with an overall record of 15-14.
Jefferson improves to 18-11 overall and advances to semi-finals to be held this coming Saturday on the campus of the University of the Sciences.
All-CACC Second Team honoree, Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led three Lady Chargers in double figures with a game high 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
Senior Ashley Merritt (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) delivered 18 points, going 6-12 from the three-point arc, three assists and two steals, while junior Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) added 14 points and grabbed a game high 12 caroms.
Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) dished out a game best eight assists and Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) had eight boards.
The Lady Chargers opened the game with the first eight points but the Rams rallied with a 20-8 quarter closing run to pull ahead 20-16.
A 14-0 second quarter opening tear by DC regained their biggest lead, 30-20, but Jefferson would cut the lead to 34-33 with 1:33 to play before the break. An and-one play from Guerra and a layup from McClutchy put Dominican up 39-33 at halftime.
In the third quarter, a 12-4 run by Jefferson knotted the score at 45-45 and a late 5-0 spurt would give the Rams the 54-53 edge heading into the final 10 minutes.
A Merritt trey with two and half minutes to play re-tied the game at 68-68, but Jefferson countered with four straight points to rebuild the 72-68 advantage. A Ram layup with 1:07 on the clock made the score 72-70 and a free throw would close out the game and give them the 73-70 victory.
