WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TURNS BACK BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/15/22) The Dominican College women's basketball team improved to 14-11 overall and 9-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Bears of Bloomfield, 74-45, this evening in a game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/15/22) The Dominican College women's basketball team improved to 14-11 overall and 9-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Bears of Bloomfield, 74-45, this evening in a game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Following the loss, Bloomfield drops to 4-19 overall and 2-13 in the CACC.
Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) and Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) led the Lady Chargers with 13 points a-piece in the win. Harrell finished with eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals, while Tomlinson tallied seven boards and two assists.
Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 11 points and three steals with Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) scoring 10 points, four assists and three steals.
The Bears were led by DaShanique Ruffin who recorded the game's only double-double of 14 points and 11 caroms.
Dominican shot well from the charity stripe, going 15-17 (88.2%), in the contest. They also took advantage of 21 BC turnovers to score 30 points and netted 46 points in the paint.
DC returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Post University. Game time is scheduled for 1pm in Waterbury, Conn.
Prior to the start of the tonight's contest, the team presented Tomlinson and Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) with their 1,000 point balls.
