Pleasantville, N.Y. (9/4/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team outlasted the Setters of Pace University to earn their second win of the season.
Pace took the opening set over DC. DC bounced back to win the next two sets. Pace took the fourth set to force a fifth and final set. DC closed out the victory in the fifth set. DC jumped ahead by five points and Pace answered back to tie DC 11-11. DC used a 4-1 run to secure the win.
Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) led the way for DC with 24 points, 20 kills, and 10 digs. Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) added 17 points, 12 kills, and 10 digs. Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded a team-high 42 assists.
Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) added 11 points while Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) scored 9.5 points and Briana Rios (New York, N.Y.) contributed 9 points.
Madison Lupica led the way for Pace with 10.5 points and nine kills. Leonarda Uljic added a team-high 15 assists while Stephanie Sicilian added 14 assists.
The Chargers will be back in action on Friday, September 10th against Nova Southeastern for the 2021 Shark Invitational at 1:00 PM.
