CHARGERS COMPLETE SERIES SWEEP OF COUGARS
Caldwell, N.J. (3/22/19) The Dominican College baseball team completed the series sweep of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division foe, Caldwell University, this afternoon after besting the Cougars 18-4 and 7-3 in games played at Kiwanis Oval.

Caldwell, N.J. (3/22/19) The Dominican College baseball team completed the series sweep of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division foe, Caldwell University, this afternoon after besting the Cougars 18-4 and 7-3 in games played at Kiwanis Oval.
Game One: Dominican scored runs in the first eight innings and recorded 18 runs on 17 hits in the 18-4 victory.
Senior Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) had five RBIs in the game, including a three-run blast in his first at-bat of the day and followed with a two-run single up-the middle in the second inning.
Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.), Billy Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) all had home runs in the game. Colon finished the game with five hits, four runs scored and three RBIs, while Kennee Torres (Yonkers, N.Y.) had three hits.
Starter Jordyn Schwark (Kingston, N.Y.) improved to 2-0 on the season after going six innings and allowing four runs on seven hits and six strikeouts.
Game Two: DC held a 3-0 lead after their half of the fourth inning, but the Cougars rallied with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the score, 3-3.
The Chargers re-took the lead in the sixth on the RBI double to center field off the bat of Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and added three more in the top of the seventh as right fielder Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) hit a sacrifice fly ball to center which brought home a run and Decker followed with his second home run of the afternoon. Designated hitter Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) later hit an RBI single to center field to give DC the 7-3 lead and eventual win.
Sophomore Jaden Diaz-Lambert (Erial, N.J.) improved to 2-1 on the season after picking up the complete game victory, allowing three runs on seven hits and seven strikeouts.
With the wins, Dominican improves to 11-6 overall and 4-0 in CACC play.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow as they host CACC foe, Wilmington University at the Palisades Credit Union Park.
