Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/15/21) The Dominican College men's soccer squad improved to 2-2 on the season with a 3-1 non-conference win over the visiting Dolphins from the College of Staten Island this afternoon.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/15/21) The Dominican College men's soccer squad improved to 2-2 on the season with a 3-1 non-conference win over the visiting Dolphins from the College of Staten Island this afternoon.
The game was scoreless until the 20th minute of play when midfielder Maximino Casares Martinez ( Valladolid, Spain) scored his first game goal off the pass from the left side by Marouf Barry (Bronx, N.Y.) for the 1-0 lead.
Dominican added to the lead at the 52:35 mark when once again Martinez took the pass from the left side by Barry and found the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
The Dolphins got on the scoreboard in the 69th minute to cut the lead in half, but forward Nicholas DiGuglielmo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) scored his first goal of the season following the forward pass by Jhosep Tovar (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) at the 89:10 mark for the final 3-1 win.
DC keeper Lucas Silva Pereria (Divinopolis-MG, Brazil) made one save and gave up one goal to improve to 2-0.
Up next for the Chargers is the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener as they travel to Post University next Tuesday afternoon.
