Palisades Park, N.J. (5/1/22) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader to host Felician University, 5-4 and 11-6, in games played this afternoon at Overpeck County Park.

Palisades Park, N.J. (5/1/22) The Dominican College baseball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader to host Felician University, 5-4 and 11-6, in games played this afternoon at Overpeck County Park.
Following the games, Dominican now stands at 14-33 overall and 11-14 in the CACC.
Game One: The Golden Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the end of one inning of play and maintained that lead until the top of the third when the Chargers struck for two runs on consecutive hits by Benjamin Avila (Walden, N.Y.) and Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic).
Felician added a run in the fifth for a 5-2 advantage, while the final two runs belonged to DC as one run scored on a fielder's choice and Darian Almonte (Orangeburg, N.Y.) stole home for the final 5-4 score.
Paulino finished the game with two hits.
Starter Maverick Medina (Pembroke Pines, Fla) suffered the loss.
Game Two: In the nightcap the Golden Falcons scored three runs in the second before the Chargers plated a run in their half of the fourth on the RBI double to center field off the bat of Tyler Patterson (East Meadow, N.Y.). Dominican added three more runs in the fifth on the three-run blast over the left field fence by Paulino to cut the deficit to 5-4.
Felician tacked on six runs in the bottom of the sixth to increase the lead to 11-4, but DC got two runs back in the seventh on a bases loaded walk to Avila and a fielder's choice for the final 11-6 score.
Paulino went 2-4 in the contest with three RBI, while Patterson also collected two hits.
Anthony Leak (Pelham, N.Y.) took the loss.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday evening when they host Mercy College.
