PACE TAKES TWO FROM CHARGERS
Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/5/22) The Dominican College baseball team continued their four game series with Pace University on Saturday with a double header.

Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/5/22) The Dominican College baseball team continued their four game series with Pace University on Saturday with a double header.
The Setters defeated the Chargers 3-1 in game one and then completed the sweep of the double header with a 2-1 victory in game two.
The Chargers now hold a record of 2-5 overall on the season and the Setters improve to 3-3.
Game One: The Setters defeated the Chargers in game one by a score of 3-1. Anthony Leak (Pelham, N.Y.) took the mound for the Chargers and recorded three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) and Ethan Sarmiento (Warwick, N.Y.) each recorded two hits. Sanders added a stolen base. Darion Almonte (Orangeburg, N.Y.) went 1 for 3 with a double. Max Chidsey (Naples, Fla.) added a single and drove in the only RBI of the game for the Chargers.
The Setters scored the first three runs of the game in the third inning. Dean DePreta scored the first run of the game after an error. The Setters added two more runs including an RBI double by Matt Almonte to extend the lead to 3-0.
The Chargers got on the board in the 5th inning to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Patrick Gleason earned the win for the Setters to improve to 1-1 on the season. Gleason recorded 11 strikeouts in six innings pitched. Nelson Arroyo entered the game in the 7th inning and recorded the save.
Game Two: The Setters completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory in game two. Brendan Turton (Westbury, N.Y.) started on the mound for the Chargers and suffered the loss to fall to 0-2 on the season.
Michael Roll took the mound for the Setters and pitched four strong innings. Dan Brown entered in relief and pitched three innings and earned the win.
The Chargers got on the board first with a SAC fly by Max Chidsey in the third inning. The Setters tied the game in the bottom half of the third inning when Luke Jacobi singled for his first RBI of the game.
Jacobi added a second RBI in the 5th inning to give the Setters the lead. Pace would hold onto the lead and secure the win.
The Chargers will look to bounce back on Sunday, March 6th for game four of the four game series with Pace University. The game is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
