Orangeburg, N.Y. (12/1/19) The Dominican College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game to the Lions of Molloy College by a score of 73-55. The Lions improve to 6-2 after the win and the Lady Chargers fall to 3-4 overall.
Molloy held a slim lead over the Lady Chargers at the end of the first quarter. The Lions extended out to an 11-point lead in the second quarter. DC fought back and cut the deficit to 37-30 by halftime.
Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) led the Lady Chargers at halftime with seven points. Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) added six points for DC in the first half.
Kadijah Dickson scored nine first half points for the Lions while Giolibeth Perez added eight points in the opening half.
The Lions outscored the Lady Chargers by ten points in the third quarter and extended to an 18-point lead by the end of the quarter.
The Lions extended to their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter and closed out the victory over the Lady Chargers.
Kadijah Dickenson led the way with 16 points and added nine boards and four assists. Perez finished with 14 points and eight rebounds. Marthe Guirand added 11 points and eight rebounds. Robin Francis finished the game with 10 points and six rebounds.
Latimer finished the game with nine points for the Lady Chargers. McClutchy finished with eight points and recorded seven rebounds. Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished with a team-high of 10 points. Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) pulled down eight rebounds and added six points.
The Lady Chargers will look to bounce back on Tuesday, December 3rd when they host conference opponent Felician University at 5:30 PM.
