With the loss, Dominican falls to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Sophomore forward Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) came off the bench to net a game high 16 points and complete the double-double with 10 rebounds. Teammate Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) recorded her first career double-double with career highs of 15 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with three steals.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) dished out a team high five assists, while adding five points and five rebounds. Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) grabbed six boards in the loss.
After one quarter of play Dominican trailed 14-10, but they rallied with a 9-1 run in the second to pull in front 19-15 and a Guerra layup as time expired gave DC a 24-23 edge at the intermission.
Bloomfield countered in the third frame by closing out the quarter on a 9-5 spurt to reclaim a five-point advantage, 39-34 and later the 54-49 win.
Dominican is back in action next Sunday when they travel to non-conference foe, Pace University.
