DEVILS RALLY TO DEFEAT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL IN DOUBLE OVERTIME
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/15/22) The #12 University of Sciences women's basketball team erased a double-digit deficit to upend the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 80-74, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

Following the loss Dominican now stands at 7-8 overall and 2-3 in conference play, while the Devils improve to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the CACC
Dominican opened the contest with the first 10 points and used a layup from Maria Enrich Tasias (Odena, Spain) to take a 20-8 advantage with just over a minute left in the quarter. A trey from Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) as time experiend in the opening frame extended the lead to 24-8.
USciences cut the lead to 28-22 with just over a minute left before the intermission, but the Lady Chargers closed out the half with back-to-back buckets from Samantha McClutchy (Washingtown Township, N.J.) and Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) to rebuild a 32-22 led at the break.
Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) had a solid first half with six points, five rebounds and three assists.
The Devils were able to outscore Dominican 37-27 in the second half to force overtime.
In the first overtime, USciences began the period on a 6-2 run to gain a 65-61 lead with under three to go. A Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) jumper with under a minute on the clock tied the game at 68-all and sent the teams to the second overtime period.
USciences was able to close out the game on a 7-2 run in the final two minutes of the second overtime for the final 80-74 win.
Suarez led al scorers with 21 points and four steals.
McClutchy and Oliva Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished with 13 points each with McClutchy completing the double-double with 10 rebounds and Levy adding four assists.
Latimer also had a double-double with 12 points, 10 caroms and four assists, while Tomlinson also finished with 10 rebounds.
The Devils were led by Anna McTamney with 19 points.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday, January 19th when they travel to Nyack College.
