Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/15/21) The Dominican College men's soccer team topped the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 4-2, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played at the OMM Soccer Complex.

With the win, Dominican improves to 6-4-1 overall and 4-1-1 in CACC play.

Ewan Gray (Middlesbrough, England) got things going with a goal in the 11th minute of play off the pass from Armando Morales (Jupiter, Fla.) for the early 1-0 advantage.

DC added to the lead at the 38:32 mark when Marouf Barry (Bronx, N.Y.) netted his first game goal off the assist from Nicholas DiGuglielmo (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) to send the Chargers into the intermission with the 2-0 lead.

Less than a minute into the second half, forward Guilherme Pirana (Jundiai, Brazil) received the pass from Barry to the right side of the box and put the shot past the GBC keeper to extend the lead to 3-0.

The 62nd minute saw Eric Affi (St. Michael, Minn.) score a goal on a free kick opportunity to make the score 4-0.  GBC got on the scoreboard less than a minute later on a shot from 30 yards out and a free kick goal at 80:26 from the Lightning brought the score to its final 4-2 decision.

Keeper Lucas Silva Pereria (Divinopolis-MG, Brazil) made two saves in the win.

Barry finished with three game points with one goal and one assist.

Dominican had the 20-9 edge in shots and an 11-6 advantage in corner kicks.

The Chargers return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Bloomfield College.
