CHARGERS TOP NYACK COLLEGE, EARNS TRIP TO CACC SEMIFINALS

The Chargers, who now hold a record of 11-5-2 (7-2-2 CACC), defeated Nyack 2-1 and earned a trip to the CACC Semifinals.
The Chargers took 15 total shots as a team. Alberto Persici (Urbino, Italy) took a team-high five and scored the first goal of the game. Maximino Casares Martinez (Valladolid, Spain) and Marouf Barry (Bronx, N.Y.) each recorded three shots.
Lucas Silva Pereria (Divinopolis-MG, Brazil) recorded three saves in the win and improved to 11-3-2 on the season.
Both teams played a scoreless first half with the Chargers firing 10 shots and recorded two on goal that were stopped by Nyack goalkeeper Marco Roessle. Pereria made one save in the first half.
Alberto Perisici got the scoring started just under two minutes into the second half to give DC the 1-0 lead. Giacomo Salvarezza (Genova, Italy) earned an assist on the goal.
DC extended their lead when Jacob Owen (Middlesbrough, England) scored at the 69:16 mark for the 2-0 lead. Maximino Martinez recorded the assist on the goal.
The Warriors made things interesting when Marvin Lugmeier scored at 83:51 to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Chargers were able to hold onto the 2-1 lead and earn a trip to the CACC Semifinals.
The Chargers will now travel to Waterbury, Connecticut on Friday, November 12th to face Wilmington University at 12:30 PM for the 2021 CACC Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals.
