The Chargers fall to 1-7 overall on the season and the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-10.
The Yellow Jackets jumped out in front early on the Chargers in the top of the first inning with four runs to open the game. Andrew Stone drove in two runs with a single to get the Yellow Jackets on the board. Antonio Brown followed up with a two RBI single for the 4-0 lead.
The Chargers answered back in the bottom of the bottom of the third inning when they rallied to load the bases. Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) and Billy Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) were both hit by a pitch and each earned one RBI to cut the deficit in half.
The score remained 4-2 until the 7th inning when the Yellow Jackets rallied and extended the lead to 7-2 when Christopher Jordan doubled in three runs.
The Yellow Jackets added one more run in the 8th inning on an RBI single by Jared Hunt to extend the lead to 8-2.
Daniel Brandon recorded the win for the Yellow Jackets and earned 10 strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Andrew Stone and Antonio Brown each recorded two hits and drove in two RBI's. Christopher Jordan finished with three RBI's while Jared Hunt drove in one run.
For the Chargers, David Hill (Boca Raton, Fla.) went 1 for 3 with a double. Colon and Rotella each earned one RBI. Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras), Steven Santana (Bronx, N.Y.), Arthur Quinones (Miami, Fla.), and Nicholas DeCandia (Cresskill, N.J.) each recorded one hit.
Nicholas Galese (Totowa, N.J.) suffered the loss for the Chargers but recorded seven strikeouts in four innings of work.
The Chargers will be back in action on Sunday, March 8th for a double-header at the USA Training Complex in Cary, N.C. Game one is scheduled for 9:00 AM against Slippery Rock and game two will follow at 1:30 PM against Fairmont St.
