EAGLES TOP CHARGERS IN CACC OPENER

Post scored a run in the top of the first and held the advantage until the bottom of the third when shortstop Peter Kiefer (Waterford, Conn.) hit a two-run single up-the-middle to bring home Jean Nunez (New York, N.Y.) and Alexander Reyes (Bronx, N.Y.) to push ahead, 2-1.
The Eagles rallied with a three-run fifth stanza to go back ahead, 4-2. The Chargers plated a run in their half of the seventh on the RBI double to left field by Kiefer to cut the lead to 4-3.
A Post run in the eighth gave them the 5-3 lead, but Dominican countered with a run of their own to make the score 5-4.
Dominican made the bottom of the ninth interesting as the leadoff runner walked, but the Eagles reliever was able to get the next three batters out to claim the win.
Kiefer finished the game with two hits and a team best three RBI.
Tyler Richman (Sunrise, Fla.), Phil Whitney (Newark, N.J.) and David Knepper (Miami, Fla.) all recorded two hits in the loss.
Starter Anthony Leak (Pelham, N.Y.) suffered the loss in six innings of work, while collecting seven strikeouts.
