The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Chargers struck for six runs on five hits. Jordan Bernacet (Rotterdam, N.Y.) had a two-run single and later catcher Benjamin Meza (Miami, Fla.) hit a two-run double. Centerfielder Kenee Torres (Yonkers, N.Y.) hit a two out RBI single and Sanders added an RBI double for the 6-0 lead.
Molloy got two runs back in the top of the sixth inning, but the Chargers got the runs back in the bottom half of the inning on a wild pitch and RBI single off the bat of shortstop Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) to extend the lead to 8-2.
Following a lion run in the seventh, the Chargers tacked on two more runs in their at-bat on the two-run single from senior Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) for the 10-3 lead and eventual win.
Bernacet and Torres each had three hits in the win.
Freshman Andrew Bandura (Pine Bush, N.Y.) picked up the win in four innings of relief.
With the win, Dominican improves to 25-23 overall.
DC will host Queens College tomorrow evening at the Palisades Credit Union Park.
