DOMINICAN TOPS LE MOYNE AND MINNESOTA-CROOKSTON AT THE SPRING GAMES
Winter Haven, Fla. (3/18/22) The Dominican College softball team went 2-0 in action today at The Spring Games with victories over Le Moyne College, 7-6, and the University of Minnesota-Crookston, 5-2.

Winter Haven, Fla. (3/18/22) The Dominican College softball team went 2-0 in action today at The Spring Games with victories over Le Moyne College, 7-6, and the University of Minnesota-Crookston, 5-2.
Following the wins, Dominican improves to 4-5 overall.
Game One: The Lady Chargers got on the scoreboard in their first at-bat as third baseman Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.) hit a two out RBI single to right field for the early 1-0 lead. DC added to the lead in the third on the infield hit by Paige Sasser (Brentwood, Calif) and tacked on two more runs in the fourth on run-scoring hits by Kamryn Raya (Corona, Calif.) and Chloe McIntosh (Menifee, Calif.) to increase the lead to 6-0.
Le Moyne got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth with two runs, but the Lady Chargers got a run back in the sixth on the RBI single to center field by Ridge to make the score 7-2. In their final at-bat of the game, the Dolphins scored four runs on five hits in the 7-6 Dominican win.
Ridge led Dominican with three hits in four at-bats with two RBI. McIntosh and Rebecca Haggerty (Grafton, Mass.) finished with two hits a-piece.
Right-handed hurler Kyra Wiens (Chilliwack, British Columbia) earned the win (1-2) in six and 2/3 innings of work and collecting three strikeouts. Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) came in for the final out of the game to get her first save of the season.
Game Two: The game was scoreless until the third inning when Ridge brought home two runs on a single up-the-middle and Raya later followed with an RBI groundout for the 3-0 lead.
Dominican added to the lead in the sixth frame when centerfielder Kristin Miscia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) blasted a two-run home run over the center field fence to push ahead 5-0.
The Golden Eagles scored two runs in their half of the seventh inning as the Lady Chargers earned the 5-2 win.
Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) went 2-3 in the game, while Ridge and Miscia both finished with two RBI.
Starter Journey Limardo (Anaheim, Calif.) picke dup the complete game win (1-2), allowing two runs on five hits and five strikeouts.
DC wraps up their trip to Florida tomorrow as they take on Minot St., Shepherd University and the University of Minnesota-Crookston.
