KYLE CLANCY LEADS DOMINICAN TO CACC MEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP
Nov 5, 2005

RUTHERFORD, NJ - Senior forward Kyle Clancy scored a goal in the 14th minute to lead Dominican College to a 1-0 victory over Caldwell College in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer championship game today at Tryon Field in Rutherford, NJ. It is Dominicans third conference championship crown in the last four years.

Clancys goal, his fifth of the tournament, came off a double-assist from sophomore midfielder Diego Miranda and sophomore forward Ryan Clancy. The initial pass came from Ryan Clancy and Miranda dished off to a cutting Kyle Clancy, who sent a shot past the charging Cougar goalie, Mike Turdo.

The rest of the game was a defensive struggle, as both the Charger and Cougar units didnt allow the offenses to mount a consistent attack. Dominican out-shot Caldwell, 13-10.

At the conclusion of the game, Kyle Clancy was named Tournament Most Valuable Player after registering five of his teams six goals in the tournament. The complete All-Tournament team can be found below.

The Chargers improved to 18-1 overall this season with the victory, while Caldwell is now 12-5-1. Both teams will now wait to see if they gain a bid to the 2005 NCAA Division II Mens Soccer Tournament. The tournament bracket will be released later this weekend.
