BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – A complete team effort led the Bears women's basketball team to a, 74-56 victory over the visiting Ravens of Franklin Pierce University Friday afternoon. The non-conference battle featured four Bears in double-figures including seniors
Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) and
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) who recorded 19 and 16 points respectively. Bloomfield also saw starter,
Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J.) net 13 points and junior guard
Jahniece Jaffe (Egg Harbor, N.J.) catch fire off the bench for 15 against the Ravens.

How It Happened
- The home team opened the scoring with two Robinson free throws but the Ravens responded with seven straight points for a 7-2 lead three minutes into the contest. Bloomfield came back to tie the score at 7-7 and the teams went basket for basket until the quarter ended with a 19-18 edge for Franklin Pierce
- Bloomfield came out more focused in the 2nd quarter and roared to a 12-2 run to seize control of the game, 31-21 with 4:40 on the clock
- Halftime came and Bloomfield enjoyed a 39-27 lead as Smith nailed a buzzer-beating three-pointer to send the teams into the locker rooms
- An even 14-14 3rd quarter saw the squads trade three pointers at the end of the frame with the home team's coming by way of a conventional 'and-one' by Smith and the Ravens nailed a long range shot as the buzzer sounded
- Well in control, Jaffe buried a three-ball with 3:09 remaining in the final quarter that put the home team up 72-53 as the junior sharp shooter finished the game 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and the Bears locked up the regional win
Up Next: Bloomfield will host a big time rivalry match up as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division's Rams of Philadelphia University visit the Den. The Wednesday evening showdown is slated to tip-off at 5:30 pm in Bloomfield N.J.
