Moreau's Hat Trick Lifts STAC to 4-0 Victory over Nyack

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory over Nyack College in a non-conference game at Spartan Field. The Spartans are now 2-11-2 overall, with Nyack falling to 3-12-1.

After pregame ceremonies honoring STAC's seniors, the Spartans came out sharp as Mekenzi Moreau took charge early. Moreau drilled home her first goal of the day off a feed from Maya Lafleur at the 3:34 mark, and added her second at 39:34 on a perfectly-placed shot from a tough angle. She completed the hat-trick before the end of the half, taking a pass from Alexandra Squillaro and splitting the Nyack defense at 41:29 to make the score 3-0 at halftime.

St. Thomas Aquinas held a dominant 12-2 advantage in shots through 45 minutes and kept up the momentum after the break, this time with Moreau providing the assist on Maya Lafleur's tally at 51:24 to round out the scoring. STAC ended the afternoon with a 20-5 advantage in shots as Colleen Stevens and Alex Santoriello combined for the shutout in goal.

The Spartans return to action for a non-conference contest at Pace University on Tuesday, November 5, before concluding the 2019 season with an East Coast Conference affair against Daemen College on Saturday, November 9 at 12:00 noon at Spartan Field.
