LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College Bears upset the #1 seeded and regionally ranked Cougars of Caldwell University, 1-0 in 8 innings and advanced to face the #4 seed, Holy Family University in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tournament Friday afternoon at the GCU Field 2.
The extra inning victory improved the Bears record to 25-22 overall and eliminated the 35-13 Cougars from the 2016 CACC Softball Championships. Bloomfield will play their third elimination game of the day as they square off with the Tigers and a chance to post the programs first CACC Championship in the NCAA Division II era on the line with a win.
