SOFTBALL SWEPT BY COUGARS
Caldwell, N.J. (4/2/19) The Dominican College softball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader to the Caldwell University Cougars.

Caldwell, N.J. (4/2/19) The Dominican College softball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader to the Caldwell University Cougars. After both losses, the Lady Chargers drop to 10-13 (7-3 CACC). The Cougars improve to 13-13 (6-2 CACC) after the sweep.
Game One: The Cougars started off strong with three runs in the first inning to open the game. Paige Sandavol and Christina Misiur combined for the three runs in the first inning with Sandavol driving in the first run and Misiur driving in the next two.
DC recorded a run in the second inning to get on the board. Maya Rodriguez extended the Caldwell lead to 5-1 with a two-run single in the fourth inning.
The Lady Chargers answered back again with two runs in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 5-3 after Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) roped an RBI triple and Emily Luzetsky (Bel Air, Md.) followed with an RBI single. That would be all for the scoring in the game as the Cougars would go on to win 5-3.
Game Two: The Cougars followed up their game one victory with a 4-1 win in game two over DC to complete the sweep.
Carly Testa got the Cougars off and running with a first-inning home run to give the Cougars a 1-0 early lead. Christina Misiur drove in two runs with a double in the third inning to extend the lead over DC to 3-0.
The Lady Chargers got on the board in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to 3-1, but the Cougars added another run in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Jessie Johnston on their way to a 4-1 victory in game two.
For the Lady Chargers, Rajene Bowe recorded two more hits. Alyssa Seiss (Queens, N.Y.), Taylor Gilligan (Medford, N.J.), Andrea Hester (Yorba Linda, Calif.), and Shailei Kraft (Waverly, N.Y.) all recorded hits for DC.
The Chargers will be back in action when they return home on Thursday, April 4th when they return home to host Felician University. Game one is scheduled for 2:30 PM and game two is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
