BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College women's soccer team dropped a tough game against Post University Tuesday evening under the lights at Foley Field. The 2-0 shutout marked the Bears seventh straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss and the setback left the home team at 0-10 overall while the Eagles soared to 4-5 on the season with a 4-3 record in league play.
Â
The Bloomfield offense had chances on the night and opened the first half outshooting the Eagles 9-5 during the period but Post made the most of their opportunities and were on the board in the 27
th minute of play. The visitors pushed another ball past sophomore
Emira Sela (Staten Island. N.Y.) at the 36:44 mark and eventually took the 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Â
The Bears offense was able to create pressure and possessed the ball very well for the game but couldn't break through as neither team scored in the final half of play. Each team put six shots on goal for the evening and Bloomfield held a 6-1 margin in corner kicks. Sela made four saves in goal on the night as her record fell to 0-5 with the setback.
Â
The Bears will travel down the N.J. Turnpike for their next contest this Saturday in Philadelphia as they pay the Griffins of Chestnut Hill a visit. The CACC showdown is set to begin at 1:00 pm on the pitch.
