BLOOMFIELD, NJ– The Bloomfield College athletic department celebrated Senior Day on Saturday as the Bears' women's team took a, 97-52 setback against the #9 team in the country, Jefferson. The day began with honoring seniors from both programs in a pregame ceremony. The Rams improved to, 24-2 overall with the win and a 15-2 mark in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. 
 
Bloomfield (5-21, 4-13 CACC) honored Briana Carrington (Baltimore, MD), Ilysia Lewis (Baltimore, MD) and Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) as Coach Vanessa Watson spoke about the players' contribution to the program. After the ceremony the teams took to the court and Jefferson wasted little time showing why they are ranked in the nation. The visitors secured a 28-13 1^stquarter and never looked back, leading the game from wire-to-wire. McKenzie had 10 first-half points and her team went into the break down, 49-26.
 
The 3^rdquarter was tough for the home team, with the offense scoring just 7 points and the Rams putting up another 28 on the board. By the end of the game, Jefferson had six players in double-figures and Bloomfield had three lead by freshmen guards, Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) and Caitlin Townes (Newark, NJ). The Brick City tandem scored 16 and 12 points respectively while the senior, McKenzie finished her day with 10 points nd 6 rebounds.
 
Bloomfield has two games remaining on the calendar for the 2018-19 campaign and next up is a road trip to face Post University. The Eagles welcome the Bears to Waturbury on Wednesday for a CACC contest at 5:30 PM.
