RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Led by a game-high 16 points from senior
Ariel Wilson (Chesapeake, Va.) the Bloomfield College women's basketball team soared to a 75-49 victory over the Golden Falcons Wednesday evening at the Job Gymnasium. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division match up win improved the Bears to a perfect 10-0 in league action and 14-5 overall. The setback dropped Felician University to 1-16 on the season and 1-9 in conference play.
Wilson also dished out four assists on the evening to go along with two boards and two steals.
Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) scored 12 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 3FG, 1-2 FT) and pulled down 4 rebounds and managed a block, while senior
Chyna Golden (Neptune, N.J.) notched her third double-double of the season with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT) and 14 rebounds. Â Sophomore
Jahniece Jaffe (Egg Harbor, N.J.) was also in double figures with 11 points (3-4 3-FG, 2-2 FT), while adding three rebounds and a steal.

Remi Iwelu led Felician University with 12 points while Treanda Foster pulled down 9 rebounds.

Alexia' Tucker (Halifax, Va.) helped the Bears to a 5-0 lead just 2:15 in as Bloomfield led the match from wire to wire. By the end of the first quarter, the visiting Bears held a 21-7 advantage.  The second period scoring opened with a Wilson jumper and before the teams headed to their locker rooms, the Bloomfield senior created a steal and converted a fast break layup that closed the scoring for the half at 41-20.

A quick 6-2 spurt capped by senior
Iman Williams' (Shreveport, La.) bucket in the paint gave Bloomfield their largest lead in the third quarter (47-22) just 2:03 in. The Bears lead never dipped below twenty during the quarter and two free throws from Williams gave the undefeated CACC North Division squad a 57-34 edge heading into the final period.

The fourth quarter saw the Golden Falcons deficit grow to thirty-one before two jumpers in the final minute closed the gap to the 75-49 final talley.

Williams chipped in nine points (3-6 FG, 3-4 FT) and six boards, while Tucker tallied five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 3FG) and four assists.

Bloomfield outshot Felician, 48.1 percent (25-52) to 37.3 percent (19-51), including 54.5 percent (6-11) to 18.8 percent (3-16) from beyond the arc. The Bears were also better from the line, 67.9 percent (19-28) to 34.8 percent (8-23), won the glass, 47-21, including 11-3 on the offensive end and held a 30-20 advantage in the paint. The Golden Falcons forced Bloomfield into 27 miscues while only committing 23.

Next up the Bears will host the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in a game that has been moved to Friday, January 22. Due to impending weather conditions the CACC battle will tip off at 4:00 pm.
