WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS ON THE ROAD TO REGIONALLY RANKED NYIT

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Bears women's basketball team dropped their 4thconsecutive non-conference game to start 2018 after a, 101-41 setback to NYIT Wednesday evening. The 'Battle of the Bears' contest left Bloomfield at 0-4 overall while NYIT improved to 5-1 after the regional match up.

The home team jumped in front early, 20-7 after the 1stquarter as the Bloomfield offense struggled to find continuity. NYIT enjoyed a, 45-22 advantage when the teams went into the locker rooms at the half.  The preseason 2ndranked East Coast Conference (ECC) team stretched the contest open with a 31-point 3rdquarter and cruised to their first win at home.

NYIT sported a balanced team offense with six players notching double-figures by the end of the game. Bloomfield saw senior forward, Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) finish the evening with 19 points to go along with 7 rebounds.

The Bears look to enjoy their holiday break before returning to action on Thursday, November 29th. The Pioneers of LIU Post will host the Bears in non-conference action set for a 5:30 pm tip off.
