Caldwell, N.J. (4/3/19) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team defeated the Cougars of Caldwell University by a score of 21-9. DC improves to 2-5 (2-1 CACC) and the Cougars fall to 1-8 (0-2 CACC).
Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) each scored eight goals and Fox recorded three assists while Heegan earned two assists for the Lady Chargers. Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, N.Y.) added three goals and two assists. Sarah Smith (Slate Hill, N.Y.) and Melissa Peysson (East Meadow, N.Y.) each recorded one goal in the win.
Rebecca Nutting (Marcellus, N.Y.) earned the win and recorded seven saves to help DC secure the victory.
Arden Kassaleh led the Cougars in the game with five goals Jessica Collum scored two goals while Samantha Murphy and Jenna Steelman each scored one goal for the Cougars.
The Lady Chargers outscored the Cougars 13-5 in the first half. DC used two four-goal runs and one five-goal run which ended the half strong over Caldwell.
DC opened the second half with four goals and added four more before the end of the game on their way to the 21-9 victory.
The Lady Chargers outshot the Cougars 41-20 in the game and recorded 35 shots on goal. The Cougars recorded 16 shots on goal.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, April 6th when they travel to Chestnut Hill College for a conference game at 1:00 PM.
