Strong Effort by Ngo Helps Bentley to 3-0 Win over Post

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore middle blocker Shannon Ngo (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda HS) hit .667 and finished with ten kills and four blocks as Bentley University posted its third straight three-set win in non-conference volleyball Tuesday night at the Dana Center. The scores against Post University were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15.

Bentley, now 8-4, pulled away late in each set to seize control. It was a 9-2 run in the first after the two teams were even at 16-all, an 8-1 spurt in the second after the Falcon advantage was just two at 17-15, and a 16-6 run in the third after Post (0-12) knotted the set at 9-9.

The 9-2 in the first included aces from seniors Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) and Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/Greenhill School). Five Eagle errors played a major role in the second-set run, and Ngo had four kills during the third-set burst.

In addition to the ten kills from Ngo, Bentley received eight, including five in the opening set, and 11 digs from junior Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS). Senior setter Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) had 18 assists in the first two sets.

Bentley will be back at home Thursday night for a 7 pm match against Southern New Hampshire University
