GOLDEN FALCONS TAKE TWO FROM BASEBALL
Lyndhurst, N.J. (3/30/19) The Dominican College baseball team dropped two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games from host, Felician University, in games played today at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. Felician won the first contest, 12-8 and took the second game, 6-1.

Lyndhurst, N.J. (3/30/19) The Dominican College baseball team dropped two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games from host, Felician University, in games played today at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. Felician won the first contest, 12-8 and took the second game, 6-1.
Following the losses, Dominican falls to 14-11 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
Game One: Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as third basemen Brian Rotella (Stony Point, N.Y.) produced the run-scoring single to right field. DC added three more runs in the third inning when freshman Kennee Torres (Yonkers, N.Y.) hit the RBI double to centerfield and four batters later a run scored on a double play. Right fielder Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) scored on passed ball to increase the Chargers lead to 4-0.
Felician would rally and score runs in their half of the third, fourth and fifth innings to jump ahead, 9-4. DC got a run back in the sixth on the run-scoring single up-the-middle off the bat of Torres, but the Golden Facons tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 11-5 advantage. Dominican cut the deficit to 11-7 in the seventh on the back-to-back bases loaded walks issued to Jayson Wright (North Rockland, N.Y.) and Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.). Felician got a run back in the bottom of the seventh and Dominican scored the last run of the game in the eighth as Sanders came home on a wild pitch for the final 12-8 score.
Torres went 4-6 with two RBIs.
Senior Jordan Bernacet (Schenectady, N.Y.) took the loss (0-2) in four innings of work.
Game Two: The Golden Falcons led 5-0 after two innings of play, but the Chargers got on the scoreboard in the fourth as a run scored on a fielder's choice. A Felician run in the fifth led them to the 6-1 win.
Sanders, Elijah Tavarez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) all collected two hits in the game.
Sophomore Jaden Diaz-Lambert (Erial, N.J.) suffered the loss (2-2) in five innings of work.
Dominican returns to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Concordia College.
