BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bears defense held the visting Golden Falcons to a season-low 2 points in the first quarter en route to a 63-46 victory Saturday afternoon. The CACC win improved the Bloomfield record to 3-0 in league play and 7-2 overall while Felician fell to 1-7 on the season and 1-2 in conference action.
Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) netted a game-high 14 points and shot 50 percent from the field (4-8) during the Bears third consecutive win.
Iman Williams (Shreveport, La.) contributed 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-4 FT) and five rebounds while
Alexia' Tucker (Halifax, Va.) scored 9 for Bloomfield to go along with four assists and two steals. Down low,
Chyna Golden (Neptune, N.J.) snagged a game-high 8 boards and dropped 6 points.

Felician's offense went thru Hannah Johnson who picked up 11 points (3-5 FG, 3-4 FT) in the Golden Falcon setback and Treanda Foster pulled 6 boards on the afternoon.

After a layup tied the score at 2-2 for the visiting team, the Bears defense shut out their CACC North Division rival for the rest of the first quarter. Bloomfield's offense wasn't firing on all cylinders as they managed 10 points in the opening frame but the bright spot came from freshman
Ilysia Lewis who scored 6 out of the Bears last 8 points in the period.

The home team kept the pressure on in the second quarter as they clawed out a 9-0 spurt to hold Felician at bay. The Bears broadened their lead to as many as eighteen (26-8) capped by a 3-pointer from Smith on a dish from
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) with 2:51 on the clock. The Golden Falcons ran off the last 6 points of the half and headed into the locker room down 26-14.

Bloomfield forced 17 turnovers in the first two quarters and held their guests to just six field goals.

Felician came out of the break determined to keep pace with the Bears and the teams traded baskets in the frame as the visitors climbed to within eleven (34-23) before the home team flexed to fifteen (43-28) at period's end.

In the final frame Bloomfield posted a 20-point span four times including once on a Tucker three-ball from beyond the arc with 2:24 remaining. Felician buried a half court shot at the buzzer for good measure and the Bears collected their third victory in league play.

Bloomfield forced 25 Golden Falcon mistakes for a 25-8 margin in points off turnovers and also outrebounded Felician 44-33. The Bears featured 9 steals on the afternoon and 11 dishes as Tucker and
Ariel Wilson (Chesapeake, Va.) collected 4 and 3 assists respectively.

Next on the Bloomfield agenda will be the Chargers of Dominican College. The two CACC North Division unbeaten teams will battle Tuesday evening at the Bloomfield College Gym with a 5:30 pm scheduled tip off time.
