Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. – The Bloomfield College baseball team tried to continue their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a doubleheader on tap for Tuesday but 'Mother Nature' had other plans as Game 2 was suspended due to rain in the top of the 2^nd inning. The Bears dropped Game 1, 3-1 to the visiting Griffins of Chestnut Hill College.

Game 2 (Postponed due to Rainfall in the top of the 2^nd inning)

How It Happened – Game 1
 

• 1^st inning – Anthony Maldonado (Newark, N.J.) got the nod on the mound for the Bears and surrendered a run in the top of the first. Bloomfield's sophomore hurler threw a solid game as he continued to improve with each inning of experience he gained
• 3^rd inning – The Griffins pushed across another run during the third inning but Maldonado stranded two on the base pads and looked for the home team's bats to wake up and provide some support
• 9th inning – After Chestnut Hill tacked on another run in the fourth inning, Bloomfield tried to make one last stand in the 9^th. The visitors' reliever hit Isaac Pichardo (Passaic, N.J.) to start the final inning. After loading the bases, the Griffins' pitcher struck Ramger Iglesias (Bronx, N.Y.) and that drove in Pichardo to give the Bears life with two-outs and the bases still full.
• A harmless ground ball in the infield ended the Bears threat and gave Maldonado (2-2) his second loss of the season

 
How It Happened – Game 2
 

• 1^st inning – Carlos Tejeda (New York, N.Y.) took to the rubber in Game 2 with hopes of redemption for Bloomfield as they tried to earn a split on the day but after getting thru the opening frame with two strike outs, the game was called for heavy down pour prior to the Bears' Ace returning to the mound for the 2^nd inning

 
 
Up Next: No make-up date has been scheduled for Tuesday's postponement. Bloomfield has Nyack College next in their sights but with the torrential rainfall bombarding the East region, the double-dip set for tomorrow may be in jeopardy with Bloomfield slated to travel back to the Empire State.
