DOMINICAN WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALL IN CACC SEMI-FINALS
Lakewood, N.J. (5/3/19) The #4 Dominican College women's lacrosse team fell to the top-seeded Lions of Georgian Court University, 20-10, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Semi-Final game played on the GCU Turf Field.

Following the loss, the Lady Chargers end the season with an overall record of 6-10.
Junior attacker Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) led Dominican with three goals.
Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished the game with two goals and a team best four assists, while Taylor Sobel (Oradell, N.J.) and Melissa Peysson (East Meadow, N.Y.) netted two goals a-piece.
Goalie Rebecca Nutting (Marcellus, N.Y.) made nine saves in the loss.
The Lady Chargers struck first as Heegan netted a goal off the pass from Fox with 27:46 left in the first half. GCU answered back with three straight scores before DC recorded back-to-back goals off the sticks of Heegan and Fox to knot the score 3-3 with under 20 minutes left in the half. A 5-0 Lion run put them up 8-3 and they closed out the half on a 5-2 run to extend the lead to 13-5.
Dominican closed out the game with the last four goals as Peysson and Sobel scored two times each for the final 20-10 loss.
