Firebirds claim 5-2 victory over USciences

Washington, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team defeated USciences in a 5-2 victory to secure their second win of the season.

After losing the doubles point, the Firebirds came back a with a vengeance to win the singles points 5-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Kostiantyn Kalchev and Louis Mangeon fell to Oscar Serra and Borna Markusic 6-4. Kalchev would go on to defeat Serra at No. 1 singles 7-5, 7-6(5) and Mangeon would go on to defeat Markusic 6-2, 6-7(8), 6-3 at No. 2. 

The No. 2 doubles team of Maksim Bahdanovich and Enzo Alavaski won their match against Jack Kosiorowski and Brandon Gildea 7-6(7) and both went on to winning their singles matches at No. 3 and 5 respectively.

The duet of Juan Estevez Hernandez and Wilson Cano fell at No. 3 with a score of 6-1. Hernandez would go on to win his singles match at No. 4 over Sahas Chandragiri 6-4, 6-1.

UDC (2-0) will face off against Shephard University on October 4that 2:00pm.
