How It Happened
- After the emotional Senior Day festivities the Bears roared out to a 9-0 lead to start the 1st quarter. The home team maintained their momentum during the opening frame and were up, 14-8 at the buzzer
- The Cougars responded with six unanswered points to begin the 2nd quarter and the two NCAA Div. II regionally ranked opponents were even at 14-14 with 8:29 on the clock. The home squad stepped in front by four (20-16) minutes later but the Cougars used three consecutive buckets from beyond the arc to secure their first lead of the contest, 25-20
- Bloomfield battled but went into the locker room down, 29-26 to their rivals in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division. Robinson poured in 12 of her points by halftime as the Bears struggled to find offensive continuity in the opening two quarters
- The Cougars seized control in the 3rd quarter and the home team found it hard to make buckets as Caldwell ballooned their lead to fifteen (49-34) by the end of the frame. Bloomfield converted just two baskets in the third and looked to the last quarter to find some relief
- The 4th quarter provided no such comfort for the Bears as the visitors held Bloomfield to their lowest point total and field goals made for the season (42) and (16). Robinson shot 50.0 percent from the field (7-for-14) but the rest of the home squad went a combined 21.4 percent from the floor (9-for-42)
Up Next: The Bears will look to rebound from having their 11-game CACC win-streak snapped with another North Division test to close out the regular season on Tuesday. The Chargers of Dominican College come to town for a 5:30 pm showdown in the Den.
