CALDWELL, NJ – In the 'Battle for Bloomfield Ave' the Bears women's basketball team traveled up the road and took down the regionally ranked Cougars from Caldwell University, 69-62. With the win, first year, NJ Hall of Fame head coach, Vanessa Watson secured the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season championship, going 16-3 in league play and winning the tie-break over the Cougars who also finished 16-3 this year.
 
Reigning CACC Player of the Week, Zhane Robinson (Newark, NJ) erupted for 33 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the floor and added in 10-of-11 from the charity stripe to lead all players. Robinson snagged 7 rebounds for the game along with Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) and Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, NV) who each grabbed seven boards and scored 14 and 12 points respectively.
 
The win gave Bloomfield the top seed in the North Division after coming up 2^nd last year to Caldwell University entering post-season. This year, Bloomfield will host the #4 seed in the South Division, Holy Family University on Tuesday, February 27^th at The Den. The Bears and the Tigers are set for a 5:30 pm showdown in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinal Round.
