STEPHENVILLE, Texas – After falling behind early in the second half, A&M-Commerce put together a dominating run that encompassed over eight minutes, pulling away for a 101-89 victory over Bloomfield (N.J.) College. The Lions improve to 4-0 on the year while the Deacons drop to 0-2.

Five Lions scored in double figures on the afternoon, led by a career-best 20 points from Kameron Price. The senior shot an impressive 8-for-12 from the floor and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line while adding five rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Fellow senior Kenny Brown was just as impressive for A&M-Commerce, shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor and adding a free throw to finish with a career-best 15 points to complement his eight rebounds. Junior Christian Macauley had his best game in a Lion uniform as well, recording a personal-best 14 points with eight rebounds and a pair of assists.

Freshman De'Andre Carson continues to impress in his first season as a Lion, recording 11 points and five assists while Devondrick Walker notched 10 points in just 15 minutes of action due to foul trouble. Junior LaDon Carnegie just missed another double-double, posting nine points and a team-high nine rebounds while senior Tyrie Wooten paced A&M-Commerce with six assists to go along with his five points and two steals.

Playing in the opening game of the 2013 Tarleton Texan Tipoff Classic, A&M-Commerce went up against a Bloomfield squad it had never faced before in the program's history. The two teams were fairly even through the majority of the first half with the Deacons building a modest four-point lead at 26-22 with 8:25 remaining.

A 7-0 run gave the Lions the lead at 29-26 as the two squads combined for eight ties and seven lead changes through the opening 20 minutes. With the score tied 37-37, Bloomfield used an 8-3 run to pull ahead by five at 45-40 in the final minute, taking a 45-42 lead into halftime.

The Deacons would extend the advantage to six early in the second half, building a 54-48 lead with 15:15 remaining. However, it was the Lions that found their spark as over the ensuing eight minutes, A&M-Commerce outscored Bloomfield 33-8 to go from trailing by six to leading by 19, building an 81-62 lead with 6:25 to play. That stretch included 17-straight points for the Lions, who turned a 60-60 nailbiter into a commanding 77-60 advantage.

A&M-Commerce maintained its double-digit advantage for nearly the remainder of the half as the closest Bloomfield would pull was to within eight at 90-82. But the Lions were able to keep the Deacon comeback attempt at bay, cruising to the 12-point victory to improve to 4-0, reaching the century mark for the first time since a 102-98 overtime win against Angelo State in 2010-11.

Bloomfield had four players finish in double digits, led by a game-high 21 from Marvin Williams. Claude Blue added 18 while Mike Williams and Clarence White finished with 16 and 13 points respectively.

A&M-Commerce will have little time to savor the victory as the Lions return to the court at Wisdom Gym in less than 24 hours. A&M-Commerce takes on St. Edward's tomorrow at 2 p.m. as the Hilltoppers will take on host Tarleton State at 7 p.m. this evening.
