Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/29/19) The Dominican College women's soccer team earned their third straight win over the Clippers of Concordia College on Tuesday.
The Lady Chargers' 4-1 win improves their record to 5-8-3 (3-4-3 CACC) on the season. The Clippers fall to 4-9-1 (2-7-1 CACC) after the loss.
Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) started in net for the Lady Chargers and recorded three saves. Meagan Meuweisse recorded five saves.
The Lady Chargers fired 15 shots in the game and recorded 9 shots on goal. Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) led the team in shots with three and scored the first goal of the game. Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.) scored an unassisted goal to give DC a 2-0 lead at the 31:18 mark.
Three minutes later, Gabriella Bedetti (Newburgh, N.Y.) extended the DC lead to 3-0. The Lady Chargers held a 3-0 lead into halftime and early in the second half Danai Chimedza (Dacula, Ga.) scored to give the Lady Chargers a 4-0 advantage. Victoria Bonner (Kings Park, N.Y.) finished the game with an assist and Lauren Drake (Clifton Park, N.Y.) added two assists.
The Clippers got on the board at 84:27 when Morgaanne Cartee scored off the assist from teammates Dianna Moreno and Kayla Lanza.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Sunday, November 3rd for their final home game of the season. DC will celebrate Senior Day when they host the Tigers of Holy Family University. The game is scheduled for 12:00 PM at Albertus Magnus High School.
