BLOOMFIELD, N.J.- The Bloomfield College women's basketball team got back to their winning ways with a 85-66 victory over Felician College. Bears guard,
Tianna Smith (Nanuet, N.Y.) recorded a game high 24 points while shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. Sophomore guard,
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) contributed 20 points to the victory along with 8 rebounds and forward
Tierra Scott (Bear, D.E.) notched a double-double, dropping 14 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.
Bloomfield improves to 12-8 overall and 10-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action, to remain atop the North Division. Felician College falls to 5-17 overall and 4-11 in CACC play.
The Bears got off to a bit of a slow start going down 13-10 with 9:42 to play in the opening period. Bloomfield would relinquish the Golden Falcon's lead, going on a 13-2 run sparked by Taylor to go up 24-15 with 6:02 left in the first half. Taylor scored 12 of her 20 points in the opening period. Taylor's play ignited the team's offense, as they would go into the half up 36-24.
The Bears carried their late first half momentum into the second stanza as Taylor would score three quick points pushing the lead to fifteen (39-24) just seconds into the period. Smith got her offense going in the second period going 5-for-7 and scoring 13 of her total points in the final half of the game. With a strong second half from Smith, and Bears senior forward,
Lauren Deverin (Sewaren, N.J.), Bloomfield would clip the Golden Falcon's wings and secure the North Division win. Deverin finish the game with 13 points while grabbing 6 rebounds.

David Caputo expressed his pleasure with the way his offense performed today, watching Bloomfield shoot 47 percent from the floor. Coach Caputo was also happy that his team was able to edge Felician College in rebounds 42-32.
The Bears will continue with the third installment of their six-game home stand on Thursday, February 12, against the Clippers of Concordia College. Game time is set for 6:00 pm.
