BEARS BALANCED OFFENSE WINS, 82-60 BATTLE OVER WARRIORS

NYACK, NY – 8 different players recorded at least two points as the Bloomfield College women's basketball team picked up their second consecutive win on Wednesday night after Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at Bowman Gymnasium in Nyack, N.Y.
 
The Bears (4-8) secured the, 82-60 victory on the road against the Warriors and improved to 4-1 in league play with their highest offensive output of the year. Nyack fell to 2-4 in CACC matches and 2-13 overall after the setback.
 
A balanced front saw the visitors shoot, 42.9 percent from the field (24-of-56) and three players in double-figures led by the tandem of CACC Player of the Week, Zhane Robinson (Newark, NJ) and the Bears leading point-getter for the season, Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) who each contributed 19 points. Dayanni Cochran (Las Vegas, NV) had a solid performance going 50.0 percent from the field (6-of-12) for 16 points including a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
 
Bloomfield never trailed in the contest and seized control with a 21-15 first quarter. Robinson and McKenzie each had 7 points with the teams heading into the halftime break where the Bears held a slim, 37-30 lead.
 
Nyack gained some ground in the third quarter and outscored the CACC North Division's 2nd place team, 19-18 for a six-point deficit (55-49) heading into the final frame. Bloomfield turned up the heat in the fourth quarter to distance themselves as McKenzie poured in ten points and the visitors put the game out of reach.
 
The Bears seek a third consecutive win this Saturday when the travel back to the Empire State for a North Division battle with Concordia College. The Clippers welcome Bloomfield for a 1:00 pm match-up at the Meyer Athletic Center.
